Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland is recruiting for Class 1 Shunter Drivers at Severnside Depot, Stonehouse. This full-time, permanent role is based in the yard with an 18:00–06:00 shift pattern (4 on/4 off) and an hourly rate starting at £17.30–£28.42 plus a £20 weekly supplement. Overtime is paid at £19.46 per hour.

The role requires a Class 1 licence, mandatory CPC and digital driving card, and Terberg experience. You will perform vehicle checks, coordinate bay movements, and uphold rigorous safety

Qualifications

• Terberg experience is mandatory.
• HGV Class 1 licence is mandatory.
• Current CPC and digital driving card are mandatory.
• No more than 6 minor points on licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onsite bay movements ensuring equipment is compliant.
• Prioritise safety and respect all road users.
• Complete driver and vehicle checks accurately.
• Conduct regular vehicle/trailer safety checks and report defects.
• Identify hazards and take preventive action.

We are recruiting for Class 1 Shunter Drivers at our Severnside Depot within the Muller Milk and Ingredients Distribution Business.

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Location: Severnside Dairy, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, GL10 2DG

Shift Pattern: 4on 4off 18:00-06:00 - Role will be yard based

Hourly Rate: From £17.30 per hour - £28.42 per hour dependent on shift pattern (Plus £20 weekly supplement)

Overtime rate: £19.46 per hour

Class 1 Shunter Driver Key Skills & Experience

• Terberg experience (mandatory)
• HGV Class 1 Licence (mandatory)
• Current CPC and digital driving card (mandatory)
• No more than 6 minor points on driving licence (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)
• An effective team member who works well on their own initiative
• Demonstrates an excellent attitude to work
• Self – motivated with a positive attitude and extremely reliable
• Must be comfortable with the physical nature of the role

Class 1 Shunter Driver Role & Responsibilities

• Coordinate the onsite bay movements ensuring that all equipment is fully compliant
• Puts safety first and respects all other road users.
• Diligent in ensuring driver and vehicle checks are completed correctly.
• Conduct regular checks on all vehicles and trailers to ensure they meet the necessary safety and compliance standards. If a vehicle or trailer is not compliant defect to the workshop for repairs or maintenance.
• Prioritise, assess, and control safety, health, and workplace risks. Identify potential hazards and take preventive measures.
