Job summary

Müller is hiring Class 1 Shunter Drivers for the Skelmersdale Depot. This full-time, permanent role is yard-based with a 4on 4off shift pattern from 6:00am to 6:00pm. The position offers hourly rates from £17.30 to £28.42 depending on shift, plus £20 weekly supplement and overtime at £19.46 per hour.

Mandatory HGV Class 1 Licence, CPC and digital driving card, and no more than six points on your licence. We welcome reliable, self-motivated team players who can work well independently and safely

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 Licence is mandatory.
• CPC and digital driving card are mandatory.
• No more than 6 minor points on driving licence.
• Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Excellent attitude to work and reliability expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onsite bay movements and ensure equipment is compliant.
• Prioritise safety and respect all road users.
• Carry out driver and vehicle checks correctly.
• Check vehicles and trailers for safety and compliance; defect for repairs as needed.
• Identify hazards and take preventive measures to minimise risks.

We are recruiting for Class 1 Shunter Drivers at our Skelmersdale Depot within the Muller Milk and Ingredients Distribution Business.

Contract:Full Time / Permanent

Shift Pattern:4on 4off 6:00am-18:00pm -Role will be yard based

Hourly Rate:From £17.30 per hour - £28.42 per hour dependent on shift pattern(Plus £20 weekly supplement)

Overtime rate:£19.46 per hour

• HGV Class 1 Licence (mandatory)
• Current CPC and digital driving card (mandatory)
• No more than 6 minor points on driving licence (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)
• An effective team member who works well on their own initiative
• Demonstrates an excellent attitude to work
• Self – motivated with a positive attitude and extremely reliable
• Must be comfortable with the physical nature of the role

Class 1 Shunter Driver Role & Responsibilities

• Coordinate the onsite bay movements ensuring that all equipment is fully compliant
• Puts safety first and respects all other road users.
• Diligent in ensuring driver and vehicle checks are completed correctly.
• Conduct regular checks on all vehicles and trailers to ensure they meet the necessary safety and compliance standards. If a vehicle or trailer is not compliant defect to the workshop for repairs or maintenance.
• Prioritise, assess, and control safety, health, and workplace risks. Identify potential hazards and take preventive measures.
