Job summary

Biffa is hiring an LGV Driver for residential food waste collections from Sidley Depot. You will collect and empty food waste caddies across local routes on a multi-collection basis, working outdoors and as part of a team, using your own initiative.

We require a valid LGV 2 licence with CPC and tachograph, and offer in-house training, PPE, and access to Biffa perks and pension schemes. Monday–Friday day shifts with opportunities for 2026 start dates.

LGV Driver – Residential Food Waste Collections

Location: Sidley Depot

Pay Rate: £16.67p/h

Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00

New Food Waste Contract – Immediate & 2026 Start Dates Available

We're looking for LGV Drivers to work as part of a crew to join our new Residential Food Waste Collections team.

You'll be responsible for collecting and emptying food waste caddy bins across local routes on a multi-collection basis.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, using their own initiative and working as part of a team.

About You

• Hold a valid LGV 2 licence
• Have a valid CPC card and digital tachograph
• Good knowledge of local areas (advantageous but not essential)

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements
• Ability to safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Good awareness of health & safety procedures
