Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is hiring an LGV Driver for residential food waste collections based at Hailsham Depot. The role involves driving a large rigid vehicle to collect and empty food waste caddies on local routes, Monday to Friday, starting at 07:00.

Training is provided and opportunities to join a new contract are available. We value teamwork and safety; drivers must maintain daily vehicle checks, adhere to hours/tachograph rules, and deliver excellent customer service on outdoor routes across

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC / DQC.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect and empty food waste caddy bins on local routes.
• Operate a large rigid vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Work as part of a crew to complete residential collections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and comply with safety procedures.

LGV Driver – Residential Food Waste Collections

Location: Hailsham Depot

Pay Rate: £16.67p/h

Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00

New Food Waste Contract – Immediate & 2026 Start Dates Available

We’re looking for LGV Drivers to work as part of a crew to join our new Residential Food Waste Collections team.

You’ll be responsible for collecting and emptying food waste caddy bins across local routes on a multi-collection basis.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, using their own initiative and working as part of a team.
