Job summary

Biffa Group in Abingdon is seeking an LGV Driver Loader to operate waste collection vehicles, load bins and assist with street cleansing duties. The role is outdoors, with start times 05:30 and a 42.5 hour week.

You will need an LGV/HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, Tachograph card, and experience with refuse/waste collection; training is provided and progression opportunities exist within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Do you hold a valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Do you hold a valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Do you hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Do you have previous commercial HGV driving experience.
• Do you have previous experience driving a refuse/waste collection vehicle.
• Are you able to carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Are you confident following planned routes and completing collections safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collect and empty bins, boxes and bags.
• Assist with street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.
• Lead teams and work outdoors with initiative to improve local environment.

LGV Driver Loader

Days of work: Monday to Friday 42.5 hours per week

Start and finish times: 05.30 to 15.00

Pay : £19.87p/h Salary £43,912

Working as part of a crew, you will drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from householders and carrying out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.
