Job summary

Aura Education Services is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a North Liverpool SEN Hub. This full-time role is fixed-term for the full academic year, supporting pupils with varied needs in a welcoming primary setting.

You will work under the SENCO and classroom teachers to deliver tailored interventions, monitor progress and promote inclusive learning. A safeguarding-aware approach and excellent teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Solid safeguarding and child protection understanding.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN needs across communication, cognition and social, emotional health.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and independence.
  • Promote inclusion, engagement and positive relationships within the SEN Hub and wider school.

Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEN Hub)

Location: North Liverpool based Primary School
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Fixed-Term (Full Academic Year)
Start Date: First week of September

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in North Liverpool. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for the full academic year, based within our Special Educational Needs (SEN) Hub, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including communication and interaction, cognition and learning, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Adapt learning resources and teaching strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Assist with personal care where required, maintaining pupils’ dignity and independence.
  • Promote inclusion, engagement and positive relationships within the SEN Hub and wider school community.
  • Observe, monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
Essential Requirements
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs within a primary school setting.
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
Desirable
  • Experience working within an SEN Hub or specialist provision.
  • Knowledge of autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and strategies to support pupils with additional needs.
  • Experience delivering intervention programmes and supporting individual education plans.
