Job summary

Hays Education are partnering with a mainstream primary school in Anfield, North Liverpool, to recruit a Level 3 Qualified 1:1 Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. The role provides targeted one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs to help access learning and reach potential.

You will support the pupil's curriculum access, work with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver EHCP/IEP targets, and adapt activities to individual needs, while promoting social interaction and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings.
• Level 3 TA qualification held.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND.
• Support pupil to access curriculum and engage in class activities.
• Work with class teacher and SENCo to deliver targets from EHCP/IEP/individual plans.
• Plan and adapt learning resources and teaching strategies for individual needs.
• Support communication, language development, and social interaction.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive behaviour.
• Encourage independence and sustained engagement in learning.

Job Description

Hays Education are working in partnership with a mainstream primary school in Anfield who are seeking a Level 3 Qualified 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.This role will involve providing targeted one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs, ensuring they are fully supported to access learning and achieve their potential.

The role will involve:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
• Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum and engage positively in classroom activities
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver targets set out within the EHCP, IEP, or individual support plans
• Planning and adapting learning activities, resources, and teaching strategies to meet individual needs
• Supporting communication skills, language development, and social interaction
• Promoting emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive behaviour
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and sustained engagement in learning
• Using your Level 3 knowledge and experience to contribute effectively to the wider classroom environment

Previous Experience Required:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream or specialist school setting
