Job summary

Aura Education Services is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special needs in Liverpool. The role involves 1-1 support, small group work, and assisting with whole-class activities to help every student thrive.

You will work closely with teachers to tailor learning activities, adapt materials, and monitor progress while fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Previous experience and a patient, empathetic approach are valued.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Special Needs Support

Location: Liverpool, L1.

Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Salary: £(Apply online only) per day, Depending on Experience

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with special needs students, providing support on a 1-1 basis, in small groups, and as whole-class support.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to special needs students, ensuring their unique learning requirements are met.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement effective strategies for students with special needs.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to create a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
• Support students with personal care and mobility if required.
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members regarding student progress and challenges.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant with a focus on Primary & special needs support.
• Familiarity with a variety of special needs conditions and effective strategies for addressing them.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with diverse student needs.
• Relevant qualifications in education or special education are desirable.
