Job Description:

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Harborne on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a Key Stage 1 student with specific learning needs, providing tailored academic and social support to help them access the curriculum and reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to understand and support the student's individual needs.
  • Provide personalized support in academic and social settings, fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Assist with tasks such as reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the child's needs.
  • Encourage independence and participation in class activities.
  • Monitor progress, record observations, and communicate regularly with staff.
  • Contribute to the child's IEP and EHCP development.
