Connex is currently looking for a dedicated and empathetic team of SEND Teaching Assistants to make a real difference in the lives of children with SEND. If you are proactive, patient, and compassionate, we invite you to apply and become part of our school community located in the heart of Great Barr, Birmingham. This role involves supporting classes with mixed age groups across KS1 and KS2 with varied needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, both in and outside the classroom.
  2. Assist in creating and delivering tailored learning plans suited to individual students' needs.
  3. Help manage and adapt the learning environment to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
  4. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement effective strategies for progress.
  5. Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing in SEND students.
  6. Support students in developing social skills and participating in classroom activities.

Role Requirements
  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent is essential.
  • Previous experience working with SEN students is desirable.
  • Team Teach training is desirable.
  • Experience working in education is essential.
  • A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Connex Education.
