Job summary

The IT Apprentice role at Cummins Inc. is a developmental position within the Darlington IT department. You will work on-site four days per week, with one study day each week with college/training provider.

The program leads to Level 3 - Information Communications Technician qualification. You will support IT projects, deploy equipment, provide first-line IT support and drive process improvements while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise and manufacturing systems in a large manufacturing

Qualifications

GCSEs including Math, English and Science at Grade 7 or above, all other subjects at 4/C or above.
A-Levels at grade C or above in IT or Computer Science is desirable.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital tools.

Responsibilities

Support small-scale IT projects and initiatives from gathering requirements, process flow mapping and data collection through to testing, implementation and user adoption.
Deploy IT equipment including configuring software and troubleshooting issues across office, warehouse and shop floor environments.
Provide first-line IT support to business users through face-to-face and remote support activities.
Drive process improvements to streamline business processes and enhance service delivery.
Gain hands-on experience with enterprise and manufacturing systems supporting real-time business operations while understanding ICT security and data protection.
Develop technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using structured fault-finding, data collection, root cause investigation and maintaining support records.
