Job summary

BCP Council invites applications for a Lettings Officer in its Housing and Protection team. The role covers letting empty homes and managing tenancies, including nominations, mutual exchanges, and changes, with resident guidance and partner liaison.

Applicants should have social housing experience and knowledge of housing legislation. Part-time working is available, and right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• 2 A Levels, CIH Level 3 (or above), or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 12 months' social housing experience.
• Knowledge of housing policy, procedure and legislation.
• Experience managing lettings, mutual exchanges, tenancy changes or successions.
• Experience of administrative work in a busy environment.
• Experience supporting customers through varied communication channels.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload for timely, accurate letting of empty homes, including advertising, processing nominations and preparing tenancy documents.
• Manage the end-to-end mutual exchange process in line with statutory requirements and BCP Homes policies.
• Administer tenancy changes, including successions, joint tenancies and household amendments.
• Advise and inform residents on a range of housing matters.
• Respond to customer enquiries and work with partners to resolve issues.
• Support service improvements and enhance the customer experience.
