Job summary

Serco Leisure is recruiting a Leisure Duty Manager to support daily operations of the leisure centre. You will oversee shifts, ensure safety and a welcoming environment, and lead lifeguarding, housekeeping and presentation standards across the facility.

The role requires supervisory experience in leisure or customer-facing settings, strong leadership, and a commitment to health and safety. NPLQ is essential; PPO and First Aid at Work are desirable, with DBS checks likely.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within leisure, hospitality or customer-facing environments.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop colleagues.
• Commitment to health and safety, excellent customer care and high service standards.
• Ability to make decisions, manage priorities and respond effectively in emergencies.
• NPLQ is required; PPO and First Aid at Work are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager and leadership team with day-to-day leisure centre operations.
• Manage shifts to ensure a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
• Lead lifeguarding, housekeeping and facility presentation standards.
• Manage incidents and emergencies, conduct investigations and follow-ups.
• Support training, induction and development to maintain high standards.
• Drive growth and continuous improvement through stock management, rotas and excellence.
