Job summary

Leisure Solutions Community Trust is recruiting via Serco for a Duty Manager at Westgate Leisure Centre, Chichester. The role leads day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment and high service standards while supporting colleagues.

You'll oversee rotas, opening/closing, and programmes, drive customer service and sales, and assist with lifeguarding duties. A NPLQ and proven experience in leisure management are essential, plus DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a lifeguard or managing teams in a leisure setting.
• Strong health and safety knowledge with ability to lead during emergencies.
• Commercial awareness and customer engagement or service improvement experience.
• Able to organise, prioritise and manage multiple duties effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead on health, safety and quality; ensure compliant systems and manage incidents.
• Support sales activity, member retention and customer service standards.
• Oversee daily operations, opening/closing, rotas and programme delivery.
• Monitor facilities and uphold cleanliness, safety and presentation.
• Coach and develop colleagues and lead by example.
• Respond to feedback and community needs; act as a visible leader.
• Provide lifeguarding support as required.
