We are working with an established and reputable law firm in Herne Bay, seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join its friendly Private Client team based in the Herne Bay office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and well organised individual who enjoys working within a busy legal environment, providing secretarial and administrative support to the Partner and Private Client Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing full secretarial support to the Partner, including audio typing via a digital dictation system, managing appointments, and dealing with client queries
  • Maintaining the Partner's diary, coordinating meetings, and reporting on upcoming commitments
  • Regularly reviewing client files and flagging any required actions
  • Accompany fee earner on client visits, such as Will signings, as required
  • Liaising with the Records Management Team for document retrieval and retention, and keeping records up to date
  • Handling complex document photocopying, including certified documents such as Wills and LPAs
  • Supporting general office tasks including answering calls, greeting visitors, handling post, and providing wider administrative support

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary ideally, with proven ability to carry out audio typing using digital dictation
  • Strong administrative skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
