Description

We are looking for a Legal Secretary to join DAC Beachcroft, supporting our secretarial team as well as lawyers within the Claims Solutions Group on a remote basis.

This role is suitable for someone with some previous secretarial experience who is confident supporting a large team. The workload includes document collation, billing, finance queries, payment requests, and diary management.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone aiming to develop a career as a Legal Secretary within a supportive team.

What you will do?
  1. Preparing correspondence and documents from digital dictation, proofreading speech recognition dictation
  2. Answering and making telephone calls
  3. Managing the case management system
  4. Organising case files
  5. Preparing documentation bundles using e-bundling software
  6. Setting up and archiving files
  7. Filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing
  8. Using external client systems for document management
  9. Checking notification inboxes
  10. Copying disks and using encryption software
  11. Assisting with travel arrangements and supporting cost-saving initiatives
  12. Supporting lawyers with admin tasks like expenses and diarising meetings
  13. Liaising with lawyers and team members about workflows and deadlines
  14. Booking client meetings
  15. Supporting business development activities, including preparing presentations, mail merges, spreadsheets, and delegate packs
  16. Understanding financial administration related to billing and maintaining accurate financial data
  17. Updating client contact information and internal databases
  18. Sharing knowledge about external client setups and contact changes
Who you are
  1. Previous secretarial experience, ideally in a legal environment
  2. Audio typing experience
  3. Secretarial NVQ/Diploma or equivalent is beneficial but not essential
  4. Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  5. Client-focused approach
  6. Team-oriented, flexible, and proactive attitude
