Legal Assistant – Cardiff | £25,500-£27,000 | Monday to Friday | Permanent

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join our client's busy practice in Cardiff. This role combines legal support, office administration, and client-facing duties, offering a varied and rewarding position.

Key Duties
  • Assist fee earners with client work as directed, including drafting legal documents, letters, and emails.
  • Conduct legal research and liaise with clients on behalf of fee earners.
  • Manage debt recovery processes, ensuring cases progress efficiently.
  • Support wills administration, including appointment scheduling and witnessing signatures.
  • Provide administrative support for mediation cases, including arranging appointments and handling client queries.
  • Maintain and manage the office diary for client appointments and deadlines.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Greet clients on arrival and provide a welcoming first impression.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post, scanning, and distribution to relevant fee earners.
  • Carry out general office upkeep, including preparing refreshments and maintaining a tidy office environment.
  • Transcribe audio recordings accurately and promptly.
  • Process office payments as directed.
  • Provide PA support to the Managing Director as required.
  • Assist the Marketing Executive with ad-hoc tasks such as drafting articles, proofreading, and research.
  • Support administrative duties relating to marketing and business development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a legal assistant, administrative, or client support role (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Professional, confident, and approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to deadlines.
