The Department of Health Professions is a vibrant educational and research environment within the Faculty of Health and Education. We are long established at Manchester Metropolitan University, with our roots firmly embedded in Manchester as the previous Manchester School of Physiotherapy based at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. We have excellent collaborations with our external partners across the Northwest. We pride ourselves on our relationships with the wider social and primary care sector as well as private, independent and voluntary agencies.
The Department delivers Physiotherapy programmes at undergraduate, pre-registration master's, and postgraduate level.
This role involves high-quality teaching, outstanding student support, robust assessment of theory and practice, and other teaching-related duties across our Physiotherapy programmes. You will be supported by internal mentorship and staff development to enable you to succeed in this role.
This post is offered on the Education, Practice and Citizenship (EPC) career pathway; however, candidates with previous higher education experience and a strong research profile will be considered for our Research, Education and Citizenship (REC) pathway.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed clinicians, who hold HCPC registration as a Chartered Physiotherapist and are keen to teach and support across our programmes. We are seeking experienced practitioners with expertise in neurology and cardiorespiratory practice. Candidates should hold a good first degree plus a master's degree or demonstrate progression towards a master's.
Candidates with extensive relevant clinical experience without a master's degree, willing to engage in Level 7 study to complete a Post-graduate Certificate in Academic Practice, will also be considered.
Interviews will take place in June 2025 at the Brooks Building, Birley Campus, M15 6GX.
