Overall Purpose of the Job
The Manchester Institute of Education is seeking to appoint an experienced and inspirational Lecturer in English Education to work on its highly rated Secondary PGCE course. The post holder will work as part of a team contributing to Secondary English provision and to the wider PGCE/ ITE programmes and undertake appropriate course leadership, management and administrative duties.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, together with recent and relevant experience of Initial Teacher Education, in higher education and/or the Secondary education sector. It would be expected for applicants to hold a Master’s degree and desirable to have a PhD/EdD or be close to completion
It is hoped that the person appointed will also make a contribution to Masters and Doctoral supervision and to MIE’s research culture. Please note that flexibility in working patterns and a willingness to travel is a requirement of this role.
Post holders will be required to undergo checks to ensure that they are not barred from working with children or vulnerable adults or subject to sanctions imposed by a regulatory body or subject to any on-going investigation into any matter which may bring into question their suitability for the post applied for.

This post can be filled by a single applicant or we are open to splitting this into two posts (e.g. 0.4 FTE and 0.5 FTE)
