Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor - Learning and Teaching Enhancement

Location: Home-based

Job Purpose

With significant expertise in learning and teaching enhancement, you will be an experienced leader of postgraduate teaching programs within a higher education setting. BPP’s teaching qualification is available to all educational staff across the BPP Education Group, including BPP University. This qualification, combined with our CPD program, ensures our staff are equipped to create excellent educational experiences. You will also be a key stakeholder in our CPD program, contribute to our professional recognition scheme, and undertake learning and teaching projects with colleagues across the institution.

Key Stakeholders
  • Internal: Heads of School, Directors of Programmes, Award Leads, Academic Quality, School Education Leads, Faculty staff
  • External: Regulators and professional bodies (e.g., Advance HE, OfS, QAA, Ofsted), representative bodies (e.g., GuildHE), statutory bodies, societies, external examiners

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Senior Lecturer or to the rank of Associate Professor, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the postgraduate teaching qualification programs, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with institutional goals. Support the Advance HE Professional Standards recognition and professional development initiatives. Lead enhancement projects, collaborate across departments, contribute to scholarship and pedagogical research, and represent the department as needed.

Required Experience
  • Recognized higher education teaching qualification (e.g., PG Cert) and/or MA/MEd
  • Senior or Principal Fellow of Advance HE (UKPSF D3 or D4)
  • Extensive experience leading teaching qualification programs in Higher Education
  • Experience managing projects and teams
  • Knowledge of current trends in learning, teaching, and assessment
  • Data-driven decision-making experience
  • Strong communication, networking, and research skills
  • Ability to inspire colleagues and work autonomously
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance education
  • Commitment to professional development and BPP’s mission
