Job summary

Longspee Secondary Academy is seeking a Learning Support Team Leader to drive strategies for learning support and behaviour across the academy. You will lead a team of Learning Support staff, work with SLT, SENDCo, families, and external professionals to meet pupil needs, and implement therapeutic approaches.

You'll lead safeguarding, inclusion, wellbeing plans, monitor impact, and ensure statutory frameworks compliance while promoting positive development and academic progress.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
• Excellent communication with colleagues, families and external professionals.
• Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs and implementing safeguarding/inclusion practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Learning Support across the academy.
• Collaborate with SLT, SENDCo, families and external professionals to meet pupil needs.
• Oversee behaviour management, wellbeing plans and rewards systems.
• Lead staff training on safeguarding, inclusion and positive handling techniques.
• Monitor and evaluate impact, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks.
