Job summary

The Windmills Junior School in Hassocks is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support learners in the classroom and supervise midday meals. The role requires a calm, positive, flexible approach and the ability to work well with children and staff.

Experience in a primary school is desirable but not essential. Salary is £24,796 (FTE) for a permanent contract, with a term-time pattern of 8:45 - 3:15, five days a week (38 weeks + 5.8 weeks holiday).

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE level or higher.
• Experience in a primary school is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• LSA duties in the classroom to support learning and run small groups or individuals with focused activities.
• Mid-day meals supervision during lunch and ability to provide first aid and administer medicine as required.
• Support the teacher to help children progress and maintain confidentiality.
