Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking Learning Support Assistants to join Durrington Infant & Junior School on a full‑time, term‑time basis. Hours are 8.30am‑3.15pm, five days a week, with a temporary contract until July 2027.

You will support pupils with EHCPs and assist the teacher with classroom management. Applicants should have English and Maths qualifications at level 2 and experience in supporting learners, including those with learning difficulties, plus a flexible, team‑oriented

Qualifications

• English and Maths qualification to at least level 2
• Experience of supporting children’s learning
• Experience supporting individuals/ groups of children with specific learning difficulties
• Be flexible and adaptable
• Be committed and keen to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Enable access to learning for pupils with EHCPs and support classroom management.
• Assist the teacher in managing pupils and the classroom.
• Work in the classroom or outside the main teaching area as required.
