Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Camden, North London secondary school on a full-time, long-term placement with potential for permanent employment. The role supports students with SEN across the classroom and in 1:1 or small-group settings.

The ideal candidate will have school-based experience, strong communication, and a patient, proactive approach. Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Previous school-based experience required.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Ability to support secondary-aged pupils with SEN.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support to teachers and help students stay focused.
• Deliver targeted 1:1 support to pupils needing extra assistance.
• Lead and support small-group activities to reinforce learning content.
• Assist students with Special Educational Needs and adapt support to individual requirements.
• Encourage positive behaviour and active participation throughout the day.
• Work with teachers and the wider support team to implement learning strategies.
• Help students understand instructions and complete tasks, removing barriers to learning.
• Monitor pupil engagement and report observations to staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report welfare concerns promptly.
