SENDhelp is recruiting for multiple Learning Support Assistant (SEN) positions at a primary school in Willesden.
Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential, but it does not have to come from a school. If you have supported children with SEN through youth groups, charity work or holiday camps, we would welcome your application. Previous school experience is desirable.
These roles offer the opportunity to bring your experience into a primary classroom, helping children access learning, build confidence and take part in school life.
As a Learning Support Assistant (SEN), you will work alongside teaching staff to provide support that reflects each child’s individual needs. Your responsibilities will include:
Helping pupils understand and engage with classroom activities.
Supporting children’s communication, confidence and independence.
Adapting your approach to suit different learning and support needs.
Providing calm, patient encouragement throughout the school day.
Working with teachers and the school’s SEN team to share observations and support pupils’ progress.
Helping create a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
Essential: Experience working directly with children with SEN, whether in a school, youth group, charity, holiday camp or another relevant setting.
Availability to work full time, from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
A patient, reliable and adaptable approach.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children’s wellbeing.
