Job summary

Teach Now is recruiting an SEN Learning Support Assistant for a specialist school in Hertfordshire. The role involves supporting children aged 2–19 with complex needs, including autistic pupils, across primary and secondary phases.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to foster communication, independence and life skills. This is a full-time, long-term temporary position with a daily rate of £100–£101.80 depending on experience.

SEN Learning Support Assistant – Outstanding Special School Location: Hertfordshire Salary: £100–£101.80 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:45pm Start Date: September 2026 (ASAP) Teach Now is recruiting for eight SEN Learning Support Assistant vacancies at a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with severe and complex learning difficulties. Opportunities are available across both primary and secondary phases. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a growing specialist team and help pupils develop their communication, confidence, independence and essential life skills. Approximately 80% of pupils are autistic, so calm, consistent and relationship-focused support is central to the role.

The Role

• Provide individual and small-group support across the school day.
• Help pupils access learning and develop greater independence.

• Willing to support hydrotherapy activities.
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Previous specialist-school experience is welcomed but not essential. Candidates with relevant experience in education, care, youth work, healthcare or other support settings are also encouraged to apply.
