Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant in Wiltshire to support pupils with SEND on a full-time, temporary basis. You will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide classroom-based and one-to-one assistance for pupils with Autism/ASC, attachment disorders and SEMH difficulties, helping them engage with learning and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC, attachment disorders and/or SEMH difficulties is advantageous.

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

Are you a passionate Learning Support Assistant who is committed to helping young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND?

Do you have the patience and resilience to support pupils with Autism / ASC, attachment disorders and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH difficulties?

Can you build positive relationships with young people and help them develop their confidence, independence and engagement with learning?

The school recognises every pupil as an individual and provides strong pastoral support to promote their personal, social, academic and emotional development.

The school is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant ASAP on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide classroom-based and one-to-one support for pupils with Autism / ASC, attachment disorders and SEMH difficulties, encouraging positive engagement with learning while developing confidence, independence and essential life skills.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC, attachment disorders and/or SEMH difficulties is advantageous
• The ability to provide effective classroom-based and one-to-one support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
