Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is advertising a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) role in South London, Bromley area. The post offers 35 hours per week, term-time only, with a long-term contract and salary in the mid-£26k range per annum.

You will provide one-to-one and small group support for learners with SEN, helping them access learning, college services and enrichment activities while promoting independence and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide learning and accessibility support for learners with SEN
  • Support students to access learning programmes, college services and enrichment activities
  • Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where required
  • Help learners develop independence, study skills and self-advocacy
  • Support the implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agencies
  • Ensure assistive technology and specialist equipment are available and operational
  • Act as a College First Aider (training provided if required)

Learning Support Assistant (SEN) (BBBH276799) South London, England

Salary: GBP26803 - GBP27597 per annum

Full-time (35 hours per week) | Term Time Only | Long-term contract (12 months+ / ongoing)
Salary: £26,500 – £27,500 pro rata (term time only) + Training & Development + First Aid Training
Location: Bromley and surrounding areas

Working closely with curriculum staff and the Learning Support team, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, remove barriers to learning, and help create an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.

This role would suit someone with experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs, excellent communication skills, and a caring, patient approach. Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar sectors.

The Role:

The Person:
  • Experience supporting learners with SEN, additional needs or vulnerable individuals
  • Good standard of general education with Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Comfortable supporting learners with personal care and mobility where required
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one
