Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is working with a well-established further education college in Bromley to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) for 3 days per week during term time. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEN, helping them access learning and develop independence.

This long-term role offers a pro-rata salary of £26,803–£27,597, with opportunities for training and development, including First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs.
• Good standard of general education with Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning and accessibility support for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Support students to access learning programmes, college services and enrichment activities
• Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where required
• Help learners develop independence, study skills and self-advocacy
• Support the implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agencies
• Ensure assistive technology and specialist equipment are available and operational
• Act as a College First Aider (training provided if required)

Learning Support Assistant (SEN) - (3 Days per Week)

3 days per week | Term Time Only | Long-term contract (12 months+ / ongoing)

Salary: £26,803 - £27,597 pro rata (term time only) + Training & Development + First Aid Training

Location: Bromley (South London)
