Job summary

Certus Education Ltd are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN secondary school in Hertfordshire. You will work closely with teachers to support students with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, contribute to creating a calm, inclusive learning environment, and collaborate with the SEN team to implement individual learning strategies for pupils across the school day.

Qualifications

About the Opportunity

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other experienced professionals to provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs. You will help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where every young person is encouraged to reach their full potential.

The role will involve supporting students both within the classroom and across the wider school environment, helping them to develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Who We're Looking For

The school is looking for someone who is patient, resilient, compassionate and genuinely passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

You may have previous experience working within a school, SEN setting, care environment, youth work or another role supporting children or young people. However, the school is also keen to hear from individuals with the right attitude, values and willingness to learn.

Ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN environment
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs
  • Be patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships
