Job summary

Temple Mill Primary School is seeking a highly effective Learning Support Assistant to join the Teaching and Learning Department from September 2026. You will work closely with the Classroom Teacher and SENCO to help a pupil access the curriculum, develop confidence and achieve learning goals.

This is a part-time, fixed-term role for 1 year, term-time only, with pro rata salary (£25,185-£28,142 FTE) calculated as £8,537.49 - £9,539.89 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with learning needs
• Ability to follow guidance from SENCO
• Able to work with primary-age pupils in a classroom setting

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to access the curriculum and develop confidence.
• Work closely with the Classroom Teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support.
• Assist with behaviour management and track pupil progress.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and uphold the highest standards in all aspects of their work. They will work closely with the Classroom Teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping the pupil to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their individual learning goals.

This is a Part time, Fixed term temporary role for 1 year, Term Time Only, paid on the NJC PAY SCALE D2 point 4-11 (FTE £25,185.00 - £28,142.00 – actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis which equates to £8,537.49 - £9,539.89 per annum)

The working pattern will consist of 15 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 11.30am
