Job summary

Shorefields is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support SEND students in line with the National Curriculum and academy policies. This part‑time, fixed‑term role runs 30 hours per week during term time, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 3:10 pm.

You will help deliver individualized learning plans, support classroom activities, and work with teachers to implement lessons and assessments, promoting inclusion and wellbeing. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
  • TA qualification, childcare qualification or Level 3/A-levels preferred.
  • Strong commitment to fostering teaching, learning and development of Year 7–13 students.
  • Enthusiastic, dependable and able to work within a SEND department.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individualized learning plans and support daily classroom activities for SEND students.
  • Assist teachers in implementing planned lessons, adaptations and assessment.
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support documentation.
  • Collaborate with specialist teachers, parents and external agencies as required.

Job Title

Learning Support Assistant – Part‑time, Fixed‑term (01/10/2026 – 21/07/2027). 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 3:10 pm (term time only).

Overview

We are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support the progress, learning, achievement and wellbeing of SEND students in line with the National Curriculum, codes of practice and academy policies.

Personal Qualities & Qualifications
  • Minimum C‑grade (or Grade 4) in Maths and English GCSE, or equivalent Level 2.
  • Desirable additional qualifications: TA qualification, childcare qualification, A‑levels or Level 3.
  • Strong commitment to fostering the teaching, learning and personal development of Year 7‑13 students.
  • Enthusiastic, dependable and able to work within a supportive SEND department.

Remuneration and Working Time

Hourly rate set to correspond with Band 2 (Point 11) of the Support Staff Pay Scale, pro‑rata equivalent to £15,971 per annum.
