Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Primary School and Nursery in High Wycombe. This permanent position is 35 hours per week, term time only, 39 weeks per year, with an emphasis on supporting pupils across early years to Year 6.

You will plan and deliver interventions, prepare materials, observe progress, liaise with teachers, and help manage behaviour in line with school policies; lunch-time supervision is included.

Qualifications

  • Good levels of English and Mathematics essential (Grade 4+ GCSE).
  • Preferably prior experience in an educational setting.
  • Training in Read Write Inc would be advantageous.

About you

The successful candidate will need to have excellent people skills and a warm and caring personality. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils and other staff will also be important.

Good levels of English and Mathematics are essential for the role and we require a Grade 4 or higher GCSE or the equivalent (e.g. Grade C or higher O-Level, CSE Grade 1) in these subjects.

You will preferably have had experience in an educational setting, however opportunities for training are available so this is not essential

Training in Read Write Inc would be an advantage as well as knowledge of working with children with speech and language disorders. This role may range from Nursery to Year 6.

This post will include lunch time supervision.
