Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a large, vibrant Primary School in Totteridge, High Wycombe. You will support children across Nursery to Year 6, preparing materials and working with individuals or small groups to support learning and behaviour management.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication with pupils and staff, and safeguarding. GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4+) are required; DBS checks are carried out on appointment.

Qualifications

  • Good levels of English and Mathematics are essential.
  • Excellent people skills and a warm, caring personality are important.
  • Experience in education is desirable but training is available.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a range of intervention strategies and keep relevant records.

    The governors of this large, vibrant Primary School are seeking to appoint caring and committed Learning Support Assistants. You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support every child do be the best they can be., The successful candidate will need to have excellent people skills and a warm and caring personality. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils and other staff will also be important.

Good levels of English and Mathematics are essential for the role and we require a Grade 4 or higher GCSE or the equivalent (e.g. Grade C or higher O-Level, CSE Grade 1) in these subjects. You will preferably have had experience in an educational setting, however opportunities for training are available so this is not essential Training in Read Write Inc would be an advantage as well as knowledge of working with children with speech and language disorders. This role may range from Nursery to Year 6., Please note our recruitment criteria: Candidates must produce Maths and English GCSE Certificates We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children, which will be reflected throughout the recruitment process. An enhanced DBS check is carried out on all staff prior to appointment.
