HORndeAN TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support autistic students in the Autism Resourced Provision. You will assist across subjects, helping develop literacy, numeracy and IT skills, with a focus on communication and social development.
The role is term-time only, 39 weeks per year, 29.42 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, starting as soon as possible. Training and induction will be provided; safeguarding of students is a priority.

Inaddition, an annual performance award is available for application up to 3% ofFTE salary.
Weare seeking to employ an engaging and motivating Learning SupportAssistant. You willneed to have a good general education with sound literacy, numeracy and ITskills to be able to provide support to students across all subjects. Knowledge and experience of working withstudents who are autistic is desirable and you will need to have a willingnessto learn and extend your knowledge in this area. You will also needpatience, understanding and commitment, but above all, you will be sincere witha genuine desire to help young people.
This secondary specialist provision isaimed at educating and developing children who, due to their autism, find amainstream school setting a huge challenge.The Resourced Provision provides a challenging and appropriate academicprovision and environment, whilst developing students' individual social andcommunication skills. The role within the Resourced Provision is also one whichsupports sensory, communication and anxiety difficulties and any associatedchallenging behaviours where a calm and positive approach is needed. The Autism Resourced Provision studentsaccess the whole college site for most of their lessons.
Although experience and qualificationswill be an advantage, first and foremost we wish to appoint the right person tocomplement our team. The right personshould be enthusiastic, dedicated, have a can do attitude and a good sense ofhumour is essential!
An induction and training in post andprofessional development to support you within your role will be provided.
