Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for an outstanding special needs school near Horsham. You will support students aged 5-18 with diverse learning difficulties, including ASD, providing 1:1 help and aiding group activities in a collaborative setting.

The role offers permanent employment, term-time only, with on-site parking and clear progression via fully funded training and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work 1:1 with students and in groups.
  • Willingness to train and gain qualifications on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Provide teaching assistance according to planning.

Job title - Learning Support Assistant

Location - Horsham, West Sussex

Salary - £20500-£23000 Per annum

Permanent Role /Term time only

Monday to Friday 8:45am -4.45pm

Your responsibilities will include
  • -Providing teaching assistance defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning
  • -Working 1:1 with students
  • -Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
  • -Working individually with learners/students to develop work.
  • -Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
  • -Monitoring and evaluating students learning under the guidance of the teacher
  • -Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
  • -Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas
Key skills and experience needed
  • -The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties
  • -Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
  • -The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
  • -Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
  • -Eligibility to work in the UK
  • -GSCE Maths and English
