Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a SEN school in Melksham. The role involves 1:1 support for a child with autism, helping access learning and build confidence. Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time only, with full-time or ad-hoc coverage considered.

The position offers an hourly rate of £14.24–£14.50, with a September 2026 start on a fixed-term contract. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO in a supportive, welcoming team.

Qualifications

About the role

Learning Support Assistant (Full Time)

The School and Role

Vision for Education are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a nurturing SEN school in Melksham, Wiltshire. This fulltime role involves providing 1:1 support for children with an autism diagnosis, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom. The hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only. Ideally, you will be available full-time, but we will also consider ad-hoc staff, as we always need people to cover day to day and shorter term bookings.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support, implement strategies, and create a positive, inclusive environment where both children feel valued, understood, and encouraged. You may be working on a 1:1 basis or within the classroom as a general Learning Support Assistant.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners and making a meaningful difference in their school experience.
