Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a SEN school in Melksham. The role involves 1:1 support for a child with autism, helping access learning and build confidence. Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time only, with full-time or ad-hoc coverage considered.

The position offers an hourly rate of £14.24–£14.50, with a September 2026 start on a fixed-term contract. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO in a supportive, welcoming team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in a school or childcare setting.
• Nurturing, patient, and positive approach.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Confidence supporting children with additional needs.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support for learners.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued.
