Job summary

Reed Education is seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants to support partner West Sussex primary schools on a temporary/ongoing supply basis.

The role involves assisting class teachers, supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups, managing behaviour, preparing learning materials, and upholding safeguarding procedures.

A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to adapt quickly within a busy, fast-paced primary environment

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
• Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning
• Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher
• Support children with additional needs, providing individualised assistance
• Help with classroom organisation, displays, and tidying
• Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, or off-site activities
• Provide pastoral support to pupils and help encourage positive social skills
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times
