Job summary

Reed Education is seeking Learning Support Assistants to support West Sussex primary schools on a temporary/ongoing supply basis. You will assist in classrooms, support individuals or groups, and help manage behaviour while promoting a positive learning environment.

The role demands prior school experience, a DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one), and an adaptable, patient approach with children. Training and ongoing school partnerships are provided by Reed Education.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school setting is essential.
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to adapt quickly within a busy, fast-paced primary environment
• A proactive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
• Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning
• Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher
• Support children with additional needs, providing individualised assistance
• Help with classroom organisation, displays, and tidying
• Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, or off-site activities
• Provide pastoral support to pupils and help encourage positive social skills
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times
