Job summary

Reed Education seeks experienced Learning Support Assistants to support primary schools across West Sussex, delivering regular, rewarding temporary/ongoing supply work.

You will assist teachers, support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, manage behaviour and prepare materials while safeguarding and promoting positive social skills in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school setting is essential.
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Ability to adapt quickly within a busy, fast-paced primary environment.
• A proactive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
• Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
• Support children with additional needs, providing individualised assistance.
• Help with classroom organisation, displays, and tidying.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, or off-site activities.
• Provide pastoral support to pupils and help encourage positive social skills.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times.
