Job summary

Reed Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to support West Sussex primary schools on a temporary/ongoing supply basis. You will assist class teachers, work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment.

Requirements include experience in a school setting and a DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). The role offers regular work across a network of West Sussex primary schools with flexible assignments to fit

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school setting is essential.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to adapt quickly within a busy primary environment.
• Proactive, patient and supportive approach to working with children.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
• Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
• Support children with additional needs, providing individualized assistance.
• Help with classroom organisation, displays, and tidying.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, or off-site activities.
• Provide pastoral support to pupils and help encourage positive social skills.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times.
