Job summary

Novus is hiring a Learning Skills Worker at HMP Kirkham to support learners in their education journey. The role is a 12-month fixed-term, part-time (16 hours per week) contract within the LTE Group’s prison education division, focused on delivering compassionate, inclusive learning support inside a secure environment.

The successful candidate will engage with learners, conduct assessments, and work within a multidisciplinary team to help learners achieve targets and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience of conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups.
• Experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities.
• Proven track record of achieving performance targets and reporting accurately.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Kirkham, working as a Learning Skills Worker. This role is offered on an 12-month fixed-term contract, part-time basis, working 16 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Kirkham is based in the village of Kirkham, Lancashire. It operates as a Cateogry D prison and supports a male population. the teams' aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
