Job summary

LTE Group's Novus division is seeking a Learning Skills Worker to support learners at HMP Kirkham. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, part-time, 16 hours per week, on-site within the prison education setting.

You will conduct assessments, support learning for individuals and groups, engage with learners of varying abilities, and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will have strong IT skills, customer service awareness and clear communication.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Kirkham, working as a Learning Skills Worker. This role is offered on an 12-month fixed-term contract, part-time basis, working 16 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Kirkham is based in the village of Kirkham, Lancashire. It operates as a Cateogry D prison and supports a male population. the teams' aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Have experience of conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
• Have experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities
• Have experience of successfully working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
• Proven track record of achieving performance targets
• Demonstrate accurate and timely reporting
