Job summary

Novus Transforming Lives is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to support learners with identifying needs, developing practical strategies and providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support within HMP Lowdham Grange.

The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) within the prison education provider, offering opportunities to collaborate with tutors and wider support teams to promote inclusive learning and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups.
  • Experience working with groups of learners with a range of abilities.
  • Experience of successful collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Hold Hidden Difficulties Level 2 or equivalent (or be willing to work towards).
  • Hold Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy (or be willing to work towards).

  • Demonstrate positive team working.

Job description Are you passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and reach their full potential? We're seeking a dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join our supportive education team. In this rewarding role, you'll work closely with learners to identify individual support needs, develop practical strategies, and provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support that helps them engage, progress and succeed. You'll collaborate with tutors and wider support teams to promote inclusive learning, build confidence, and ensure every learner is supported and empowered to achieve meaningful outcomes.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Transforming Lives, our prison education provider at HMP Lowdham Grange, working as a Learning Support Practitioner. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40hrs per week.

Site Information

HMP Lowdham Grange is a Category B men's prison, located in the village of Lowdham in Nottinghamshire, England. The prison is operated by HMPPS. This prison accommodates male offenders aged 21 and over. The teams' aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.
