Job summary

Exeter College is seeking a Learning Support Specialist to enhance student learning through targeted support in small groups and one-to-one sessions. This term-time role (36 weeks) balances direct student engagement with collaboration across the teaching team in Exeter.

You will run workshops, manage caseloads with EHCPs, and guide teaching staff on best practices to enable student success, contributing to the college’s safeguarding and SEND objectives.

Qualifications

• Proactive and caring approach to student support.
• Willingness to use initiative in a dynamic learning environment.
• Excellent team collaboration and communication.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE or Cert Ed is required.

Responsibilities

• Run drop-in workshops and use teaching skills to support students with specific challenges (e.g., dyslexia, autism).
• Support and monitor a caseload of students with EHCPs.
• Advise and support teaching and learning staff on how best to facilitate student success.
