Job summary

FOX MORRIS GROUP LTD is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Mentor to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs. You will provide personalised guidance to help with educational, social and emotional goals, building strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.

The role requires experience with SEN, a valid Enhanced DBS (Update Service) and a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work-related travel.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for work travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEN.
  • Implement personalised learning and support strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to support plans and reviews.
  • Accompany pupils to educational and community activities as required.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Mentor to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them achieve their educational, social, and emotional goals.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with additional needs and who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Implement personalised learning and support strategies in line with individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work-related travel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
