Teaching Personnel in Wareham is recruiting for a Learning Mentor to support pupils with emotional, behavioural and pastoral needs. This role focuses on building trust, resilience and positive coping strategies, helping learners access education with calm, consistent guidance.

You will work alongside teachers, therapists and safeguarding staff, delivering mentoring, behaviour support and attendance encouragement.

Job description

Are you experienced in supporting children or young people who need additional emotional, behavioural and pastoral support to succeed in education?

Do you thrive on building trust, developing confidence and helping learners overcome barriers that may be preventing them from achieving their full potential?

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Learning Mentor to join a specialist provision in the Wareham area. This is an immediate start vacancy and would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Care Practitioner or SEND Support Worker looking for a highly rewarding role.

This position differs from a traditional classroom support role. Whilst learning support forms part of the job, the primary focus is helping students manage emotions, build resilience, develop positive coping strategies and successfully access education.

We are seeking someone who can confidently hit the ground running and establish positive relationships from day one.

The learners require high levels of pastoral guidance and benefit from having a calm, consistent and encouraging adult around them throughout the school day.
