Cover People is seeking an SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist provision in Chapel-en-le-Frith. You will support students with emotional, behavioural and academic needs, helping them re-engage with education and develop essential skills for future success.

The role emphasises wellbeing, nurturing relationships and tailored learning pathways, with collaboration across staff to ensure meaningful progress for every student.

Qualifications

Location: Chapel-en-le-Frith
Pay Rate: £(Apply online only) per day DOE
Start Date: ASAP.
Hours: Full-time & long term, Monday to Friday

Setting: Small secondary school for children with SEMH needs.

Cover People are recruiting an SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in Chapel-en-le-Frith. This rewarding role involves supporting students who require additional emotional, behavioural and academic support, helping them to re-engage with education and develop the skills needed for future success.

The provision offers a personalised and nurturing approach, with a strong focus on wellbeing, positive relationships and tailored learning pathways. Staff work closely together to ensure every student receives the support they need to make meaningful progress.

The Role:

• Support students with SEMH needs in lessons and intervention sessions.

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.

• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Requirements

• A CV with full history from your education until present.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Valid photo ID and proof of address.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
• Minimum of 2 professional references, covering the last 2 years.
• A supportive and consistent attitude, with a genuine passion for working with vulnerable young people.
• Overseas police certificate (if applicable).

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay where applicable.
