Are you an emotionally intelligent, relational professional who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people facing barriers to education?

About the Role

Working within SEMH department at a further education provider, you'll provide trauma-informed, therapeutic and coaching-based support to learners aged 16-25 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, communication and interaction differences, learning difficulties, and other barriers to education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a key worker for learners aged 16-25 with SEMH needs, autism and learning difficulties.
  • Building trusting, relational connections that support learners' emotional wellbeing, self-regulation and independence.
  • Applying trauma-informed and coaching-based approaches to support emotional regulation and readiness to learn.
  • Supporting learners with EHCPs to engage in education and develop skills for adulthood.
  • Working collaboratively with families, therapists and college staff to enable positive outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting learners to progress towards meaningful next steps.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:45 to 16:30.
